Buggy Rides

I’ve been wanting to try this new drive-thru convenience/grocery/bakery that opened near our house a few weeks ago. This morning, we went there to get some of their breakfast items to try out, and they were so good!

We got sausage, egg & cheese biscuits, a ham & cheese empanada (all of our favorite), and the guava & cheese tequeno’s (my other fave).

Jeff went over to do some IT work at his dad’s church this morning, and Nana came over to hang out at our house. I did a BUNCH of cleaning around the house, while Nana helped fold some clothes, and played with the girls a little bit.

We had this MOUND of a billion little girl socks to try to match, but there were still so many stragglers that didn’t have any matches, even after digging through both of their drawers looking for the solo socks from the last time we did laundry.

We had Chick-fil-A for lunch, but Addie just had some baby food carrots, which she still loved and ate every bite of.

I got both girls down for a nap, and then Nana headed back home to her house. I sat down in the recliner to rest and watch “New Girl” for a little while with my feet kicked up, and then Jeff got home a little while later. Once both the girls woke up, we headed out to run some errands. We went to pick up our normal grocery order from Walmart, and we also made a special trip to Trader Joe’s for some special items. (Tomorrow is our fifth annual Galentine’s Tea Party, and I got all my stuff for that from TJ’s. And I’m so excited for the tea party!! Here are some of our past years events: 2017 was before I started blogging, but here’s 2018, 2019 & 2020; and then 2021 was cancelled because of covid issues…)

This was also Addison’s first time riding in the buddy like this! Funnily enough, Emerson’s first buggy ride was also at Trader Joe’s, back in 2018, and both girls were 9 months old at the time!

Emerson in April 2018, 9 months old…

Emmie did a little work coloring her TJ’s pics and using the stickers the cashier got her, while Addie hung out and Jeff and I did a little bit of stuff around the house.

Emerson also helped me scrub down our kitchen mats, that feel great to stand on, but get super dirty way too easily, and there’s no other way to get them clean than this, which is annoying, but, I had a good little helper 🙂

I was wanting Mexican food for dinner as usual, so we went to Maria Maria for dinner tonight. Jeff got his usual shrimp fajita nachos, Emmie got a chicken flauta (and ate almost the entire thing), and I got a carnitas sope & a fried shrimp taco. And all of that was so delicious!

After she took this goofy photo (all on her own like this, I might add), she was like, “Hey Mama, lemme see that silly picture.”

Addie had some rice for her dinner, and fought sleep, even though she was extremely tired and kept rubbing her eyes.

She did finally fall asleep on the ride home, probably as soon as the car started moving, if I had to guess… I loved the way she was holding her car seat handle like this, and stayed that way for a while. We left her in her seat while Emerson had a bath, and we did her bedtime routine together, and Addison just kept snoozing away…

I let her have two of the dark chocolate PB cups for tomorrow’s tea party, and she loved them. I had one too, and also loved it 🙂

We’re working on getting Addison transferred to her room for bedtime now, after we get her fed and back to sleep, and then I need to sit down and rest! I worked a lot today, and was up on my feet most of the day, trying to get the house as clean as possible before all the ladies come for our tea party tomorrow!
