Bubbles & Burgers

Jeff and I both had to be at church early this morning – he was serving on the tech team in “big church,” and I served in GC Kids today.

Towards the end of the service, we marched all 50 of the elementary kids into big church, so we could have all the adults pray for them and over them in this new school year.

And little Addie Pie had a great time in her preschool room this morning as well!

Then us and two other GC Kids families all went to Raising Cane’s for lunch, using some free kids meal coupons we had from Mega Sports Camp a few weeks ago.

It was almost 2pm by the time we finally got home after church & lunch, and then all of us laid down to take afternoon naps. I had kind of a rough nap, and took a long time to fall asleep and then tossed and turned, but the girls still had to come wake me up around 4:30, so we could go over to Nana’s house.

We braved the heat for about 15 minuets so the girls could play outside, but that’s literally all we could handle before we had to retreat back into the a/c.

Nana made burgers & fries for a simple dinner, and we just hung out and played and watched a movie and had some ice cream for dessert. Nana also has this really awesome foot massage machine thingy, and I looove sitting in her chair and getting that 30-minute foot massage after dinner before we head home.

Addie was being so weird about eating dinner, so Nana pretended not to notice when a sneaky little mouse kept eating bites off of her fork. And with that game afoot, Addie ate half a burger patty cut up dipped in ketchup, before she even knew it…

Beautiful sunset sky on our drive back across town tonight.

And sweet little Pennie girl snuggling with Emmie at bedtime.

I’ve got some dishes to wash and I need to clean up the kitchen a little bit, after a weekend of doing more playing than working, so we can start the week on a clean slate.
