It’s been a long, but good day, and it’s already 10pm and I’m just now starting this…
Addie was super cute in a “new” hand-me-down from Emerson.
Emmie was cute in a rainbow romper, and very squinty in the morning sun… but Jeff didn’t quite accomplish any great pics of her at drop-off today 😉
I’ve been listening to the audio book of “The Hunger Games” the last few days, and loving re-reading this. I’ve already read it about 3 times before (once in my little hardcover box set way back when it came out; a second time on my brand new wedding-gift-from-my-hubby-Kindle in 2013; and at least once more on Kindle since then) and obviously I’ve watched all the movies multiple times too. But the movies and books have been back in pop culture this past month, and I didn’t wanna be left out of that, so once I finish each book, I’ll re-watch each movie too.
We had a unit meeting this morning at work, and it probably won’t surprise anyone to know that I’m always in charge of taking minutes/notes, and I’m very good at it…
And of course note-taking is way more fun when it’s in a super cute new notebook my Mama gave me for Christmas.
I spent the hours of 2:45am – 5pm rocking Addison in the living room, so after my usual, small-ish travel cup of coffee, I needed a cup of this instant cappuccino around 11am already.
Then there was catastrophe at work, when I randomly dropped my glass bowl of leftover beef curry rice, before putting it in the microwave for lunch, sending broken glass and food flying everywhere. Strangely, I had two bowls of this today, to share the second bowl with my girl Heather, but she had to run out at lunch, and so after I dropped my bowl, she let me eat hers, and she got something while she was out. But the nice thing was, my actual Bureau Chief and another supervisor were the ones who volunteered to get down on their hands and knees to clean it up, and wouldn’t even let me! I did eventually find a vacuum, and cleaned up the last bits at the end…
Couple of pics of Addie from school today…
After work today, I went straight home to change clothes, and let out & feed Pretzel. Then I went over to my friend Ashlee’s house for our monthly book club, with my lemon bars (that I remembered at 10pm last night that I had volunteered to make) and my lemon Kindle cover…. We had such a great book club “meeting” tonight, lots of fun book talk and random conversations, and just lots of fun. Just no pictures… 🙂 This past month was my book choice, and we read “The Serpent and the Wings of Night,” and although fantasy isn’t the genre of choice for most of them, we did have great conversations, and the one other lady that likes fantasy and actually finished the whole book (like I did), also liked it. Next month, we’re reading “Remarkably Bright Creatures,” and that’s one that a lot of us have had on our TBR (to-be-read) for a long time.
So while I was off galivanting around by myself for book club night, Jeff picked up both girls from their schools today. He took them to Dairy Queen for dinner, at Emerson’s request, and then they came home and had Skittles for dessert and watched tv.
Apparently they both fought bedtime quite a bit, and since I stayed out later than I planned (we were just having so much fun!), they stayed up later than usual. So when I got home at 9:45pm, this is how I found the three of them. Luckily, I was able to easily carry both girls to their beds, give them loves and kisses, and lay them down for the night.
I had a great night, but due to lack of sleep last night, and a late night tonight, I’m super tired and ready for some rest for sure!
