I got to spend a little bit of time with this Tiny Tot, while she ate her granola bar, before I had to head out for a busy morning. But look at this model pose!
I was asking if she wanted another bite, and she was making this face like, “no lady, there’s still food in here.”
I made a quick stop for an iced coffee, followed by another quick stop at Publix for a few bouquets of flowers.
Then I met all the ladies in my family at the old Bradfordville school house, to help co-host a bridal shower! My mom’s oldest and best friend Jane’s (who we actually call “Aunt” Jane), only child/daughter, Amanda, is getting married in Chattanooga in October, so we threw her a shower for friends and family here in town. And it turned out lovely! It’s a super cute little spot for baby or bridal showers (we hosted Megan’s triplet shower here back in November), and it all looked so nice today.
Her mama brought this cukoo clock back from Germany for her, and it’s so beautiful and neat! (Her mama is also the one who got Emmie the yellow slippers that look like wooden Dutch shoes on her Europe trip.)

After lots of clean-up and breaking everything back down, I took my share of the leftovers, and a vase of flowers, and went home to rest! Meanwhile, Jeff had gotten donuts, gone for a short walk, and then taken the kids to a baby shower brunch at Backwoods Bistro for a friend who was here visiting from out-of-town, and then they got home just shortly after I did.

Gabe, Danielle (oldest child of our friends who are having another baby), and Ryan.
When they got home, Emmie played for a few minutes, and then she went down for a late nap. She slept for about 2 hours, and I slept most of that time too.
She woke up around 3:30, and shared some Cheetos with her brothers for an afternoon snack. She also wore daddy’s flip-flops and “helped” with laundry.
Then Emmie and I did our weekly trip to Publix for just a few essentials, and a few BOGO items. And of course she got a cookie!
And then she saw these gummies in the check-out line, so I got those for her.
The kids played in the carport (chalk & bubbles), while I put together a tater tot casserole for dinner, then washed the dishes from yesterday that I didn’t do last night.
My Great-Aunt Doll Baby (not her real name but pretty much everyone always calls her that, since birth) suggested a while back that I make this, and my cousin Brooke gave me a few suggestions for how she does it. I also saw a friend here in town make it the other day, so I looked at the recipe she used, and kind of combined all three recipes! And it was so yummy! (If you’re interested in how I did it -brown ground beef with sweet onions, season with S&P, garlic, & Worcestershire, add to bottom of casserole dish. Top with 1 can golden mushroom soup, spread around, then add 1 can of sweet corn. Then add a layer of shredded cheddar cheese, and top with rows of tater tots. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes.) We had it with Caesar salad, and it was so good! Everyone even had seconds.
But this weirdo wanted cereal.
We played for a bit after dinner, with ukulele, books, keyboard, Harry & Voldemort, rocking horse, and who knows what else…
And this one Tupperware was all that was leftover of the casserole!
We did bath time for Emerson next, and I put some bubbles in the water. She was scooping them up and washing her hair and body with the bubbles, so she did most of the work for me! Haha
Then she was squeaky clean, smelling so good, wrapped up in her strawberry bath robe. So, so cute!
I did the bedtime books and prayers, and then Jeff stayed to rock her to sleep and sing lullabies. I started to blog, but our internet has been down since Friday (both Wi-Fi and desktop, and Comcast can’t come until Monday), and we don’t have great cell signal in our house, so it just wasn’t working out. I was also not feeling super great (exhausted, and maybe on the verge of a summer cold), so I didn’t write this post last night. Instead, we finished “Unbroken: Path to Redemption,” and it was really good. I cried a little. And then I went to bed early, around 9:30 pm.
