Grammy got all the baby girls some new-to-us thrifted outfits, and Emmie wore one of them today – this cute little yellow romper!
Also, she was taking this bag of Teddy Grahams to her teacher today, because yesterday when I picked her up, Emerson told me Miss Jessica needed cookies and we needed to bring them today. So we did! Miss Jessica told me at drop-off that yesterday they read a book about baking gingerbread cookies, and all the kids were saying other kinds of cookies like M&M and peanut butter, and Miss Jessica kept saying “Oh I’m gonna need some of those!” And so Emerson brought her some cookies! Such a sweetheart!
I finished reading this book last night, and really enjoyed it. It’s set mostly in Nazi-occupied France during WWII, in and around a champagne house, with an alternating time-line in the present day. I thought the story and plot very interesting, and I was intrigued by the underground tunnels of the champagne house. And for a story about war-time, it was also heart-warming, and the ending made me tear up. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Looks like Tater Tot had a good day at school, even if she only took a 33-minute nap today!
I love this picture of this cute little peanut on her cot at nap time. Those tiny arms, and her little blankie, there’s just something so sweet about it and I love it so much!
I also LOVE this goofy photo of her! It looks like it was actually taken at school a few days ago, but they must have forgotten to send it to us until today, but man she’s such a goofball! Those glasses, and that little “peace” sign, which for a 2-year-old is really just a “2.” So silly!
Emmie loves to be a little helper, and one of her favorite things right now is filling up the bird feeder with the seeds.
I made coconut curry chicken ramen tonight, and felt like a real grown-up (or at least someone who is responsible with fresh veggies) using up extra veggies I had in my fridge, like extra carrots and a small yellow bell pepper.
Oooh, and then I was proud of myself for remembering my fresh herbs out back, so I grabbed some of the Thai basil, for the Thai ramen, and it was a perfect addition!
Emmie tried one bite of our soup, and even though she said she liked it, she didn’t want to eat it. So she had some plain butter noodles instead, which is more her speed anyways 😉
We did all sorts of playing around between dinner and bedtime, and she had the most fun jumping on the couch to my lap. She was talking about how high she was going to jump, and told me she was “gonna go so high, I’m gonna break through the ceiling!” And I thought to myself, you SHOULD break through that ceiling one day, baby girl!!!
(Oh, and her romper was unsnapped and flapping about, after leaving an unsuccessful bathroom trip.)
She did good at bedtime, and was definitely exhausted, especially after such a short nap today. I did last night’s & tonight’s dishes, and got the leftovers put away, and I’m ready to sit and chill for a while now!
