After getting dressed this morning, Addison requested a “bowl of pretzels,” so she carried it around with her snacking while the rest of us got dressed. So obviously when it was time for sister pics, Pennie was following her around, hoping for a snack herself!
Apparently, Addie needed to buckle in her giraffe when she got to the school, so he would be there waiting for her at the end of the day.
We got this super cute little picture of Addie Pie from the school today.
I finished up another audio book today. This one was a true-crime memoir kind of situation. I had never heard of the YouTube “mommy vlogger” from a decade or so called “8 Passengers,” but their story was wild, and so interesting.
I have a friend who works at the Goodwill Bookstore, who used to work at Growing Room, that I call my “book fairy,” because she always finds good deals on the books I want to buy. I’ve been trying to thrift this whole series for a few years now, and she finally found the full box set at a yard sale, and haggled them down to just $10 for the whole set! And since I have already thrifted some paperback copies of the series, I got book #3 (the pink one on top) in paperback now too. Anyways, she met up with my at the gym tonight to pass off the books to me, and I was so excited! I actually forgot she had the whole box set, and I thought she was just dropping off one book, so I was thrilled when I saw this.
Jeff picked up Addie today, and she was able to immediately cuddle her little giraffe again, after she got buckled up.
And I had plenty of reading time while watching Emerson at gymnastics.
I had started the teriyaki chicken in the crockpot this morning, so when Jeff and Addie got home, he shredded the chicken and made a pot of jasmine rice. Then when Emmie and I got home, he scooped up plates for all of us, and we ate dinner in the living room while watching the first 20 or so minutes of “Ratatouille.”
Addie’s hair was really weird and crusty feeling tonight (we have no idea what was in it…), so she had a super fast bath after dinner to get her cleaned up, before we started on bedtime. Emerson was feeling super tired and a little under the weather, so she was very much ready to go to sleep. Addison was a little bit keyed up at that point though, and after I left Emerson’ room, behind closed doors, I could still hear Addison chatting away to Daddy. Hopefully she’s calmed down by now, and she’ll be asleep soon.
I’ve got some dishes to wash, so I’m gonna pull up my audio book and get a little work done. My throat isn’t hurting tonight (Jeff did make me a cup of hot tea last night with honey, and that really helped; plus I also drank a cup of Emergen-C), and I don’t feel so icky, so I’m thinking it was just a little thing that is hopefully gone now.
