Sweet girl ready for another day of fun at school!
I got home with some time to spare before work started, so I scrambled us up some eggs and made us breakfast tacos, which were really filling and really yummy. (And I moved the paint further away before cooking this time 😉 )
We went on a new route for our walk today, and even though there were more hills involved, there was also more shade. We also found this canopy portion of the sidewalk that felt very lush and magical, plus lots of flowers on the walk today!
And then I whipped up some tuna salad and made grilled tuna melts with carrots and ranch for lunch, which was all really yummy.
And it looks like Tater Tot had a great day at school today!
Right before I left to pick up Emerson after work, we tried jumping Jeff’s car. (We discovered almost two weeks ago it was dead, but just haven’t dealt with it yet.) But it was too dead to even jump. So he just removed the battery, and after picking up Emerson, we went by Auto Zone to grab a new battery. The sticker on his said 2012, but there’s just no way that battery was eight years old, right!?
We decided to grab take-out for dinner tonight while we were out. Today was apparently International Sushi Day, and Bento was doing a free roll with a $10 purchase, so we each chose a meal, and got a free sushi roll! Whenever we all three hold hands, she always says, “Let’s do a wheeeee!!” So we say, one two three and then pick her up in the air, and she loves it! We also ran into the Cooney family from church while we were there, and it was so nice to see their faces in person for the first time in three months!
All the food was delicious – we both ate the entire sushi roll, and about half of our meal (I shared my rice, chicken & noodles with Emmie), and then saved the rest for tomorrow. Such a great deal, especially for so much food!
After dinner, we sat outside while Jeff put the new battery in his car. (You can’t see him working, because strangely his battery goes in the trunk.) But I got to just sit in the carport (we’re a little redneck with our chairs in the carport lately), and chill while Emmie ran back and forth talking to Daddy and keeping me updated.
Then we relocated to the grass in the front yard, so Emmie could run around and do flips and climb on Mommy like I’m a jungle gym, which is her favorite activity lately.
We got Emmie ready for bedtime, and read a book about a dog named Hally Tosis who has terrible breath, and loved on Mother Goose again.
And while Emmie and I were doing her bedtime, Jeff was getting the first coat of nice white paint on the upper cabinet doors. Also, please note the super fancy plastic tarp up on the entry way… Jeff taped this up the other day when we were using that super strong oil-based primer, so we could kind of seal off this room from the rest of the house, in hopes to keep the fumes contained. And even though the white paint isn’t anywhere near as strong, we kept it up just in case, but it feels so weird to have the plastic still hanging up, like we’re living in a full-blown renovation or a murder house or something, haha 😉
So now that Emmie’s asleep and the first coat of paint is on, we’re gonna snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie, and then we’ll both work on the second coat of paint around 10:30, before going to bed. We kind of stalled out on the work there for a few days, so we’re trying to push hard again to get things finished sooner rather than later.
