Today was Princess (or superhero) Day for Addie Pie, and she was oh so very excited to wear her beautiful Elsa dress! (We did also send a t-shirt in her backpack, so she could change when she inevitably got tired of wearing it.) And my sweet Emmie was just her usual cute self 🙂
Jeff picked me up for lunch today, and we met up with his old boss and current friend Lisel at Sahara. She was nice enough to buy chocolate covered almonds from us, so we decided to meet up for a lunch together to do the hand-off. She was always a great boss to Jeff, and now she’s a great friend too. (She also donates her old books to me, so that’s a plus as well!) She also brought a friend with her, who coincidentally knows Jeff and his family from when they used to live in Georgia, in like, the early 2000’s I believe, and who actually reads this blog already 🙂 And obviously this lunch was absolutely delicious. Sahara is always one of my faves, and it was great food today and great company!

I recently ordered another item from my favorite small business on the TikTok shop, to add to my collection of her things. Anytime she puts her things on sale, I try to get more, like the way I loved collecting Vera Bradley pieces back in the day. This is my new book sleeve to keep books in nice condition, schlepping them around in my tote bags, so the covers and dust jackets don’t get messed up. I now have the planner, Kindle case, and a book sleeve.

Jeff did all the usual rounds picking up me and both of the girls after school and work today, and then we did a speed round running through Goodwill. We got there 15 minutes before they closed, to try to rustle up some warm clothes for Jeff. I haven’t mentioned it here yet, but he’s going on a mission trip with our church in March to Moldova, and it’s gonna be cold there! We found him a couple flannels, a sweatshirt, a Nike dry-fit long-sleeve, a thick denim button-up, and a long-johns-shirt. Gonna go back tomorrow for him to look through the pants, we just didn’t have time tonight, and definitely didn’t have time for him to try on pants.

And I breezed through the home goods shelves, and couldn’t pass up this uniquely-shaped basket. Plus a nice hard-cover Kristin Hannah book.

Beautiful sunsh\et on the way home tonight. It was definitely one of those times where it wasn’t captured in the photo anywhere near as beautiful as real life. The sun rays just to the right of center looked super cool and way more awesome with my own eyes.

I wanted to color after dinner, and my little tiny girl wanted to help me. She was very sweet, and very intent about it, and kept reminding me that it was okay if we went out of the lines a teeny bit.

And Emmie was very sweetly working on her own picture as well.

I let Addie do the majority of our coloring page together, and although it was killing me to watch her use my “fancy” markers at some points, she did a pretty decent job 🙂

We watched some videos on YouTube all together while we were coloring, and the American girl Alyssa who won gold in figure skating? She was amazing! And now that marks the second time in two days I’ve cried over people winning gold at the Olympics. Last night, I teared up over a random girl from from Slovenia (I think?) winning the rock climbing event. So random, but I’ve always been overly emotional and easily brought to tears 🤣
