So first things first, we had some cereal for breakfast, did a very quick tidy-up around the living room, then got ready for the day. We had some books to return the library, and some holds to pick up, and we let the girls hang out and play for about 10 minutes.
We had already packed up bathing suits & towels to go to Grammy’s house, but I still needed some coffee, so we ran through 7Brew for some drinks after the library.
And then we went to Hayden’s legendary baseball bash for his first birthday! Uncle Bo had a grand ole time planning out a Sandlot-style themed baseball party, complete with so many cute details all over the place, plus hot dogs for lunch and glass bottle cokes.
I remember Emerson was very dainty with her smash cake, and barely even made a mess. Then Addison got a little more into it at her party. But my boy Hayden really went all out, shoving his little chubby fist into the icing, going to town, and even shoved his face into the cake towards the end. He was made when his Daddy finally pulled him out to cut him off!
There were close to 60 people there, including all of the friends and family and kids, for the party. Then after all the cake and smore’s ice cream dessert was finished up, the friends started heading out. The family all stayed for a few extra hours of swim time, and we had so much fun. We even started teaching the girls how to do some stunts in the pool, and out of all of them, Emerson really did the best, but they all did great!
Hayden got lots of great presents, including tons of clothes and plenty of trucks, balls, and cars. But it appears his favorite might be this squishy(ish) baseball bat from Grammy and Papa, that he wouldn’t even put down when it was time for a bottle.
We stayed and hung out for a while and then eventually headed home late in the afternoon. We decided to pick up dinner from this BBQ food truck near our house on the way home, and it turned out sooo good. We’ve only gotten food from here once before, but their ribs are amazing, and they give you so many!
The girls swam around in the tub for about 20 minutes tonight, playing with all the toys and squeezing out all the paint/soap stuff in a tube, until we finally washed their hairs and got them officially cleaned up. I dressed them in matching nightgowns, they both grabbed the same snack, and cuddled up to watch a few episodes of Bluey.
They were both so super tired, and they went to sleep very easily tonight, after a long fun day celebrating Baby Hayden!
