I really love this dress on her. There’s something about it that makes her look a little bit more grown-up, and it’s just really adorable.
Oh, and she was weirdly excited about this skinny little twig again this morning…
I went back into the office for four hours today, for the first time in a few weeks. I had a co-worker taking care of my violet for me (her name is Veda, the flower, not the co-worker), and I was so pleased to see how well she was doing when I got there this morning!
Also, I realized how much I took for granted my three giant computer monitors, now that all I’ve got is my tiny little laptop screen.
During our nightly chat before bedtime, Emmie told me about painting in class today. She told me she used two blue colors (dark blue and blue) to paint together. I asked her what she made, and she said, “A mess! A mess on my hands, and on the table, and Miss Jessica had to clean it up.”
After a super long afternoon (it felt like it as slow as a snail), I went to pick up Tater Tot from school, and then came home to make pancakes and scrambled eggs for dinner. I also had a bunch of mix-in’s & toppings available, and so I got fancy and took orders for everyone’s individual choices.
Ryan was my little helper tonight. He’s good about helping with dinner a few times a week, but he always wants to help make the pancakes!
I put bananas, chocolate chips & pecans in my pancakes, and they were soooo good. Such a great combo of things!
This tiny girl ate everything on her plate, plus more bananas & strawberries. (And speaking of, Ryan ate four pancakes {the most of any of us}, plus his eggs, and a ton of extra fruit. He was practically a bottomless pit today.)
She got a little crazy after dinner, dancing and running around to this crazy “worshicken” video nonsense that was absolutely ridiculous, but Emerson of course thought it was hilarious!
It took her a while to calm down after all the excitement, but we read a book, and did our Mother Goose nursery rhymes, and hugged her brothers and Daddy after prayers.
She was very funny and chatty during our nightly girl chat, talking about her friends at school and the painting she did today, and then taking care of her little elephant, wrapping her up, and singing “Rock-a-bye Baby” so very sweetly.
I came out of her bedroom after lullabies to find Gabe washing the dishes, and I did a little happy dance! 🙂
So once I finish up this post, we’re gonna jump back into our Star Wars marathon! We finished episode one last night, and started episode two during lunch today. We might even make a big bowl of popcorn to go with it, because these people in my house are extreme snackers!
