Ballet Recital, Cousins & Candy

I was craving a breakfast burrito today, so we got Chick-fil-A to start our day.

Addison isn’t quite crawling yet, but she is definitely mobile. She can kind of spin around, and scoot backwards. I left her on her play mat (completely on the carpet) while I went to make her a bottle, and one whole minute later, she had travelled about a foot  or two!

We picked up our grocery order, cleaned up Emerson’s hurricane disaster zone bedroom, did some laundry, ate lunch at home, and got the girls down for some short naps. Then we got Emmie dressed in her super cute dance recital costume, and headed across town to the Trunktoberfest and recital at Epiphany Lutheran Church. These first photos on the blacktop were from rehearsal, and then about half an hour later, they performed for a much larger crowd out on the grass!

She did such a great job, and we were all so very proud of her in her very first little recital!

Then we got to wander through all the fun trunks, and get some candy and a snow cone.

We were at Epiphany until a little before 4pm, and then we went just a mile down the road to the next trunk or treat at Deer Lake Methodist, where Megan and Bo brought the triplets and met us out there. Emmie did the whole circle of trunks before they got there, and then we did the whole circle again when they got there.

We eventually turned her backpack around, and she carried it around on her front, collecting candy like her very own kangaroo pouch. Her backpack got so full we had to empty some of it out into the stroller, before we could finish all the trunks.

We went to Chick-fil-A for dinner all together, and although there were a few fits while waiting for the nuggets to appear, we all made it through and had a nice time.

And Riley Lynn ate like 9 nuggets! We kept sneaking nuggets out of the other girls’ boxes who weren’t eating as much. I told them they’d have to order that girl a grown-up meal next time if she was gonna eat that many nugs! She even had a bite or two of Uncle Jeff’s sandwich!

We went over to the other side of the shopping center, to let the girls run around and get some more energy out, before we finally had to part ways and head home.

We took Grammy back home after dinner, and stayed for a while to feed Addie and hang out a bit. Both girls fell asleep on our 30-minute drive home, and were very easy to get down for bedtime once we got home. Addison actually needs to have one more bottle before we go to sleep, but that should be easy, and she should go right back to sleep after that. And goodness knows I’m exhausted and ready for some sleep too!
