Can you tell these little cuties are excited for Christmastime now!?
Jeff was serving on the tech team in big church, and I was serving in GC Kids, so the whole fam went early today. We also had a lot of kids helping lead in kids church today, so they joined us for our morning leader meeting.

We did a special prayer & praise service in GC kids today, which meant we had kids helping lead the songs and the prayers and helping out with all the things. And they all did such a great job!

We left Emerson at church for kids choir practice for the upcoming Christmas musical, and we hit up Firehouse for lunch for the three of us. I ordered a giant Hook & Ladder, and shared a bunch of meet, cheese & lettuce with Addie, and she had her own bag of chips. And she was just being the goofiest little goofball during lunch!

One of her favorite GC Kids leaders gave her a little Barbie set for an early Christmas present today, and she was obsessed with it. Inside her little purse she has car keys, a wallet, hair clip, sunglasses & credit card, plus the little tumbler on the side too. So cute!

After lunch, we went back home and fought Addie down for a nap with Jeff, and I took a quick cat nap on the couch. Then when kids choir practice was over, I went back to church to pick up Emerson. We returned a book to the library, picked up special drinks from 7Brew (I had a free drink on my account, so I got a giant fancy one to really “get my money’s worth”), and hit up a few Little Free Library’s, before heading back home.

We sat down to rest for 10-15 minutes when we got home, while Jeff and Addie woke up. Then we spent 15 minutes cleaning up Addison’s hurricane-wreck-level-messy room. Once we got that taken care of, Jeff and Addie ran to Home Depot looking for parts to fix a leaky faucet in our bathroom.

Meanwhile, I made a chicken & rice casserole for dinner, and Emerson and I cleaned up her room while that baked, and started her sheets & comforter in the wash. Then, we did baking double-duty, and mixed up some chocolate-chocolate chip muffins for the girls’ breakfast this week. We were very busy, very productive ladies!

We watched a little bit of “Home Alone 2” while we ate dinner, and then had a little bit of free time after we finished eating. Emerson was working on some bracelets for school folks, and I was reading my book, and I don’t know what Jeff and Addison were doing at the time 😄

Pennie joined us in Emerson’s bed for bedtime again, and she was just so comfy cozy up there covered up in the fleece penguin blanket with Emmie. We read a little bit of Harry Potter together, but my girl was sleepy and she didn’t last long. After prayers and lullabies, I stayed a few more minutes, and I’m pretty sure both girls were softly snoring.

As I got up to leave, Emerson readjusted and threw his arms and legs over Pennie, trying to keep her from leaving with me. Pennie didn’t move right away, so obviously I was glad I had time to get a picture, since she did eventually follow me out when I left. But you guys, look at this dog! THIS is the squishy face of a “scary pit bull mix” that people won’t adopt, or won’t allow in apartments sometimes. She is literally the sweetest, most gentle girl, and is always ultra patient with the girls just loving all over her. Don’t be afraid of these big babies, they can make the best mates for little ones!

I need to go wash some dishes, and do a few of our Sunday night chores to get us ready to finally head back to work and school after a nice long, nine-day Thanksgiving break. Think I’ll set my phone up in the window sill to watch Survivor, to entertain me while I wash dishes…
