Backpack

Absolutely precious girls in their pretty matching blue dresses for church this morning!

We went out to El Rincon Columbian food for lunch, and while we were waiting on our food, Addison unpacked her little Squishmallow backpack, and girlfriend was packin’ all the toys and such in there! Playdoh, memory match card game, three pairs of sunglasses, toys, pencil, camping flashlight, Minnie Mouse watch, ring, and a seashell… Kept them busy and happy and entertained while we waited though.

This simple Pollo Encebollado is my fave thing there. Just chicken & onions, with beans & rice, and salad, and you get your choice of side, but I always go for the tostones. I love this meal! I only ate half of my chicken/onions & tostones today, and saved the girls’ leftover rice and beans, and I’ll have this for lunch in a couple of days.

After lunch, Emerson and I made a fast trip to Publix for a few things for dinner this week. Then this afternoon at home, Addison and I both napped. Emerson stayed awake all afternoon, just playing around and watching some videos on her tablet. Jeff did some laundry and ran some errands on his own.

Late this afternoon, we went over to Nana & PopPop’s house to hang out and have dinner with them. I also brought over her Mother’s Day present, since we didn’t get a chance to see them last weekend. We played some games, and the girls un-decorated the Easter things from her seasonal porch tree. Then we just ordered some Chinese food for dinner, so we didn’t have to cook or clean.

We stayed and played a while longer after dinner, then got the girls changed into the jammies we brought with us, to start heading home. We did a little bit of this and that when we got home, to get ourselves set up to start a new week.

Then we started going through the bedtime routine and I noticed a weird spot on the bottom of Addie’s big toe. Long story short, we think a little thorn or splinter was stuck, and it her foot was like, starting to absorb it back and get a tough callous on it. So we had to perform a little procedure on her foot, and it was traumatic, but we got it out, and got her bandaged up, and we all survived.

Both girls are sound asleep now, and I have a few more things I need to take care of for the new week, before I can get myself ready for bed as well…
