Autumnal Harvest Supper

My girls were so especially beautiful this morning, for a great day at church!

Addie always loves waving at everyone (or no one), so they both started waving, but I’m not sure there was even anyone there to wave at.

Look how sweet these girls are, all snuggly and cuddly and watching a video together while waiting for lunch. We went to El Rincon Latino for lunch after church, and although we were at a Columbian restaurant, ironically, we ordered a cheeseburger and a hot dog. Now, both things definitely had a Columbian twist on them (like crushed potato chips, “pink sauce” and pineapple), but it was just funny.

This is the face of a baby who just tried ketchup for the first time, and apparently wasn’t a huge fan 🙂

When we got home, we did another quick round of cleaning up in the living room and kitchen, the stuff that got kinda cluttered about last night and this morning. Then I got this recipe for sweet & spicy cranberry meatballs into the crockpot for dinner with friends tonight. Then all four us took little naps for about an hour or so.

Our friends Britteny, Steven & Elly came over after nap time, and while Jeff and Steven did some work on their car, Britteny and I stayed inside with the girls, and finished up the rest of our dinner stuff. I roasted some sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts, and Britteny prepared and washed and chopped the kale. We made a delicious kale harvest salad (and I even made homemade creamy balsamic salad dressing) to go with the cranberry meatballs, and a pot of basmati rice. And it was all so yummy and healthy and felt very autumnal and perfect for fall.

Saw this salad recipe on TikTok the other day, and I’m glad we gave it a try, because it was delicious.

We took the girls to run around in the front yard for a little bit before dinner. Emmie and Elly were dressed up in their princess dresses running wild, but Addie would barely even take one step in the grass!

And this dinner turned out so incredibly delicious! I was honestly pretty proud of myself for this meal. It felt fancy and healthy and like the perfect fall Sunday supper.

The girls played in a little fort in the living room for a while after dinner.

And then it was back to the front yard to run wild for a while longer before they got in the car to head home.

Neither girl wanted the night to end, so of course it took a while to get everyone settle down and get ready for bed. There were even some tears shed from Emmie, because she was just so tired and worn out. But once she finally gave in, she was out like a light super quickly.

And little Addie Pie was out super easily tonight, as usual.

I’m way too tired after our busy weekend to actually clean up and wash the dishes now tonight. We already put away all the leftovers early, and I even sent some home with Brit & Steve, because there was more than enough to go around. But now, I need to just lay down on the couch, and let myself pass out!
