Unfortunately, we had a really rough morning at home getting ready for school and work… Two of us were crying, and only one of those two was a child, if that tells you anything! But once we got in the car, we all made up and were fine just a few minutes down the road! And then once we made it to school, we were all happy and smiling 🙂
Well, we all made it through the day, and I got the girls picked up and we raced to get Emerson to the gym, mostly on time. We dropped her off first and then found a parking spot, and on our walk inside, Addison was just fascinated with this tree and the colors changing on the bark. She thought it was so cool, and it really was!

And my little girl was such a good girl while we watched Emmie’s gymnastic class.

I actually finished my library Kindle book during her class, and I was sitting there crying reading it! At one point, I looked up and made eye contact with her coach, while wiping tears and we both just kinda chuckled. But “Atmosphere” by Taylor Jenkins Reid was sooo good! Five stars for sure. I didn’t think I cared that much about astronauts in the 1980’s, but it was so engrossing. My very favorite part though was the relationship between the main character Joan, and her niece Frances, and how much they loved each other. Some of the things Joan said to her were the very same thoughts and feelings I have about my own kiddos, and it was so precious.

This was the very last page, and I loved this final paragraph.

I had planned for us to just have turkey sandwiches for dinner tonight, but I forgot we used the last of the mayo a couple of days ago. And we were not about to have sandwiches without mayo. And I was also not going to drag ourselves into a grocery store just for that either. So instead, I quickly put in a mobile order at CFA, and we flew through the mobile pickup line in about 30 seconds, and headed home for dinner. We watched more of Star Wars episode II while we ate, and you can see the girls were locked in on that.

Sweet cuddly Pennie and Emmie had some snuggles while we watched an episode or two of Bluey.

Addison said she was gonna read this book to herself… And although I realize she looks mad, she actually wasn’t, she was just very serious about her book. (And I was laughing at her chocolate milk mustache.)

We had one last video phone call with Jeff way over in Seattle, and he showed us around the lobby and main areas of his cool hotel. They were kinda hyped up after that, but with just a bedtime prayer and a few lullabies, they were both out cold, even with Addie’s face all but smashed up against the diaper-box-bed-rail.

We have one more morning to get through with just us three, after this week of solo-momming. Jeff starts his journey home, with a red-eye from Seattle to Charlotte tonight at 10pm, and then from Charlotte to Tallahassee tomorrow at 10am, and if all goes according to plan (without any serious delays with all the hoopla going on) he’ll be home by lunch time!
