Another Round of Pneumonia

I had picked out the girls outfits last night, and I helped get them dressed this morning. I even got myself dressed, and at the last minute just decided I was too sick to actually make it to church. I was actually supposed to be serving at the check-in desk in GC Kids, and I didn’t want to be hacking up a lung and spreading germs everywhere all morning, so I stayed home and Jeff and the girls went to church.

Jeff was actually in GC Kids this morning, on the sound booth in the back.

Looks like Addison had a fun morning in the preschool room, eating Christmas cupcakes and hanging out with her favorite teacher, Miss Ary.

I was in & out of sleep most of the morning, and also tried to watch a litle of our church service online. Before that though, I watched the “new” version of “Little Women” from 2019, which I had somehow never gotten around to watching. It was really great, but I think I actually prefer the version from the 90’s. Just nostalgic and cozy from growing up.

My sweet little Pennie stayed by my side all morning, cuddling up and helping keep me warm when I was feeling pretty awful.

Jeff got lunch for all of us after church, and then we took afternoon naps. I was in & out of sleep again, because my cough kept waking me up every few minutes. I ended up calling CHP Urgent Care, at the insistence of my sister via group text with my Mama, and got an appointment for 6pm tonight.

My sweet Mama offered to help out, so she drove across town to pick me up and take me to the doctor, so that Jeff could stay with the girls. She stayed there with me, and turns out I have rhinovirus and walking pneumonia. (Sooo many folks have that this month.) And then she also took me to the only pharmacy open that late on a Sunday, to pick up the prescriptions, which she paid for as well, a whopping $5-ish dollars 😉 And then she brought me back home, where we just had cereal for an easy dinner.

They gave me the good cough syrup that should knock me out for about 14 hours, so once I finish up this short post, and take my last swig of hot tea that Jeff made me, I’m gonna swig that cough syrup and hit the sheets early. So thankful we don’t have work tomorrow. Thank you to the Governor for that! Hoping I can knock this out in about a day or so, so I’m not miserable on Christmas day!
