All Booked Up

Well, after my shopping spree at the used book sale yesterday, my tiny bookworm buddy was jealous and wanted a trip as well to look at the kids’ books. So we went this morning, and this girl was serious about searching for books! She kept pulling out good ones over & over, and I was impressed with all she found!

They had this fun bulletin board display in one of the hallways, and I thought it was really cute, combining two of my favorite things: The Sound of Music and books!

We were there for about an hour though, and Addison was getting a little antsy, so her and Jeff took a little walk down the street and found some cool artwork near the library.

And wouldn’t you know it, but we ended up filling up another tote bag for $15! At first, I didn’t think we’d need one… but I also spent a few minutes looking through the adult books, and Emmie really found quite a load, and Jeff found a few DVD’s & an audio book on CD. And this tote today ended up being even more full than my tote from yesterday.

So here’s the haul of everything we found today. I think it ended up being like 43 books, plus two audio CD’s and two DVD’s. We also picked out a few smaller books for Addie too, on the far right, but she just wasn’t as interested. Plus, we have plenty of Emmie’s books to pass down to Addie, to make room for Emmie’s new books now.

OK so we also picked up our Walmart grocery order, and had some pizza at home for lunch. Then we went to our regular library branch (the used book sale was only at the main library downtown), to drop off the books we were done with, and pick up our holds, and hang out a bit. We also had to chat with the librarians, because they claimed we had returned a damaged book last week and we were gonna have to pay $15 to replace it, and I just knew that wasn’t true!

I actually got the email about it last Sunday, and my account has actually been on lock-down all week because of it, unable to check out new audio books or Kindle books, so obviously I had to get that taken care of! Turns out, there were like three tiny coffee-looking stains on one page (that we did not even do), but they cleared all the charges from my account and we didn’t have to pay, and they unlocked my account, so all is well now!

Then of course we had to go back to the park we went to last week with the nice playground and the ninja course, to play there for a while.

We went to Nelson’s Burger Bar for dinner, and it was really good, and both girls ate really well.

We’re all happy to have Jeff home, but him and Addie just have the most special bond, and she was more happy than all of us. We say all the time that Emerson is MY Velcro-child, and and Addison is JEFF’s Velcro-child. It really works out well, to have one kid “assigned” to each parent, so we always have one to keep our eye, on or take care of, or run errands with. So Addison was just extra Velcro-ed to her Daddy all day today, after missing him for a whole week!

Since we had an early dinner, we got home early and we let the girls have an extra long bath time together. I lit a lavender candle for them, put a fun disco light on there, added a bath bomb, and set up a movie on Emmie’s Kindle for them to watch together. Then they stayed in the tub together for like half an hour, and then I got them all washed up and into some clean jammies. We did our usual episode or two of Bluey and then got started on bedtime.

We haven’t been able to read Harry Potter together with just the one-parent-put-down thing we’ve had going on this past week, but luckily we were able to get back to our regular schedule tonight. And we’re officially halfway through the book. We now have a system where I read aloud from my Kindle version, and she follows along in the giant illustrated version, and that’s working out really well.

I am planning to paint my fingernails, and Jeff and I have some tv things to catch up on together. I might try to squeeze in some reading of my own later, and then get to bed at a decent time!
