Breakfast today was even weirder than before, because we only got to choose from a few cold items, and then they bagged it for us to bring it back to our room again. So we had things like cold, un-toasted bagels, or a muffin or banana. It left much to be desired.
Then we just hung out in our room for a few hours, and people came by go visit, like Grammy & Papa, and Uncle Keith.
Then it was bath or shower time for everyone, to get ready for the wedding!
Emerson loved her new friend the flower girl (Amelia) very much, and I can’t wait to see the photographers professional shots of the two of them!
Emerson absolutely loved Aaron’s grooms cake, and I kept having to go over and pick her up so she could see it. Later, she specifically requested a piece of fishy cake, and then this weirdo ate only the fondant fish, and none of the actual cake!
So her role as ring Baroness totally fell through, when she panicked at the lat minute, wouldn’t hold the pillow, and ran straight to me down the wrong aisle, instead of to Papa on the stage. She sat with me (none too quietly, I might add) for a bit, bit eventually I had to take her out because she was noisy and fussy. To be fair, she had completely skipped her normal nap time, and was super tired and all out of sorts.
And this is the one photo the photographer has shared so far, and it’s gorgeous!
We stayed through most of the reception, but after the cake-cutting, we cut out and went back to the “who-tel” so Emmie could get a very late afternoon nap. And after a few gray, dreary days here in the Midwest, the sun finally came out today, and it was so nice! (Speaking of weather, I can’t believe I forgot to mention, but there may have been a tornado here our first night in Missouri. It woke us up in the middle of the night, with the craziest sound I’ve ever heard. It was so scary! We didn’t sleep so well that night.)
We all gathered back in my parents’ hotel room, for a hodge-podge dinner of leftovers from the last two days, and just hung out together some more. Emerson refused to eat anything for me though, and just wanted a snack. So she started with dessert first. Then about 20 minutes later, she just went over to Uncle Keith, and asked him for bites of his food, and then she ended up eating quite a good bit off his plate!
We got a bunch of our stuff packed up and loaded in the car tonight after dinner, because we leave Missouri tomorrow morning.
The original plan was to go to Laurel, Mississippi, to stay in a super cute Airbnb (owned by Mallorie, Erin’s best friend), to visit the super cute location of Home Town on HGTV. I love Erin & Ben so much, and was really looking forward to this trip. But because of all the Coronavirus craziness, the trip to Laurel has been cancelled. Luckily, Airbnb is providing full refunds under these circumstances, but it still really stinks! So we’ll start heading South tomorrow morning, and then stop for the night about half-way, and finish up our trip to Florida on Monday.
And now it’s pretty late, and since I finished my Kindle library book last night, I’m just going to go straight to bed!
