You guys! We slept in till 7:45 this morning! That’s the latest we’ve slept in quite a while. I was even able to get up and spend about 7 minutes mixing up the pumpkin muffins, and put them in the oven, before getting Emerson out of her crib. (She was awake, but just laying there resting quietly, so I left her there for a bit.) She then proceeded to wander around the house carrying quite an armload of things.
And these pumpkin muffins from the Trader Joe’s boxed mix came out delicious! And they’re even better warm with a little butter.
After breakfast, Jeff went out to mow the front & back yard. Emmie and I worked around the house doing some chores, and then headed to Walmart to pickup our grocery order. It had been a few weeks since I did a big order, so we were in need of lots of things. There’s all this, plus dog food, diapers, Slim Fast and a pack of individual chip bags not pictured.
Tomorrow is Mama’s birthday, so we did her big family dinner tonight, and gave her gifts. I got her all home decor themed things for their new house. And as you can see, I get my black-thumb from her, which is why she’s getting some cute faux plants. (And I’m really wanting a set of those pumpkin kitchen towels for myself now!)
Emmie had a leftover cheeseburger slider (plus a few sweet potato fries and a fruit & veggie pouch), from last night for her lunch, and then right at noon she went down for her nap.
My favorite way to drink coffee on a Saturday at home. Homemade iced hazelnut coffee! (On top of my large to-do list for the day. Also, do y’all add things as you go, even after you’ve done them, just so you can scratch them off? I definitely do! By the way, I added two more things at the bottom of the list, and finished all but the bathroom, which I’ll work on during nap time tomorrow.)
We’re very much into Jersey Mike’s Subs lately. And yesterday they sent an email for BOGO subs, so of course we got sammiches for lunch today while Emerson napped!
We watched one episode of Parks & Rec while we ate our subs, and then we both got busy working on our list of chores. I also got out a few more of my fall decor items like cute pumpkins and cozy leafy blankets. And Emerson’s pumpkin book was too perfect!
After she woke up from her nap, with her messy hair, she was being so super sweet. She went right to the ukulele, brought it to the living room, and started playing and singing “Jesus Loves Me.” You guys, she is just too sweet!
We took the rest of her pouch on the road, and headed to Grammy’s house!
And we went swimming for a while, with all these chubby mostly-naked baby girls! (They didn’t bring swim suits, but they loved the water!)
Megan and Kensley.
Ellie kept trying to eat my face.
We wanted a picture of the three girls in the pool (Kensley was over it already), but it escalated quickly, and two of the three (both the ones I’m holding), were instantly mad about it! So this is as good as we could do.
Grandmommie got this cute little panda hat for Emerson to wear after bath time or pool time.
Riley.
Uncle Jeff and Riley.
After swim time, we let Mama & Grandmommie do all the playing with babies, and Megan and I took care of making dinner! We had a taco bar (with both ground beef and shredded chicken), and had hard & soft shells, plus all the fixin’s for taco salad as well. Plus yellow rice. And it was all so delicious!
Daddy and Emmie also played more in the backyard before dinner, and found this crazy cool four-way see-saw thingy.
Anyone else wanna buy one of these from Trader Joe’s! haha 😉
One delicious soft chicken taco, and one delicious beef taco salad.
Emerson was being very helpful keeping the babies entertained while we all finished dinner.
Then she wanted to come back to the table and get lots of loves and hugs and snuggles from Grammy and Grandmommie.
Look at this sweetness!
The birthday girl!
Emmie is just always such a very big helper.
Kensley.
Emmie got to take a bath in Grandmommie’s new giant tub, and she loved it!
And then she loved the special attention she got while Aunt Meggie put on her lotion and got her ready for bedtime in her jammies.
Grandmommie bought this headband for Mama to wear, but Emmie loved it!
She was so so super tired before we left, and I thought she might actually fall asleep on the way home. But instead, she just jibber-jabbered all the way home! Literally, she talked for the entire 30-minute drive home!
We had a quick drink of milk, and then she sat in the floor with Daddy to read her mermaid book.
But after our books, we did family hugs and prayers, and she snuggled in on my shoulder for lullabies. She let me lay her down right after, and she was out like a light!
Today was a really great day (loved having family time!), but it was busy and we’re all exhausted! I’m going to light a fall candle and turn on my pumpkin Scentsy, and we’re going to just watch something calm and chill for a bit before heading to bed early.
